Melbourne Charter Bus

Yarra Valley Winery Tour with Melbourne Charter Bus

From its early beginnings in 1838, when William Ryrie who had a cattle station at Yering planted a vineyard of thirty acres, the Yarra Valley has grown to over 70 wineries.

The great thing about the Yarra Valley is that it is easily accessible to Melbourne, and a perfect destination for a day tour visiting wineries. Even better is when you share the day with a group of friends and don’t need to worry about designated drivers.

Let Melbourne Charter Bus drive you in comfort as you enjoy friendship and a great day out in the Yarra Valley.

Yarra Valley winery tour with multiple stops

As well as wineries there are some other fabulous destinations to include on your bus charter tour of the Yarra Valley. The $10 tasting paddle at Four Pillars Gin Distillery is a great introduction to local craft gin, and allows each person to mix their G&T to their preferences with the different gins and quantities of tonic water.

  • Four Pillars Distillery
    • 2A Liliydale Rd, Healesville

    • Sunday – Thursday: 10:30am – 5:30pm
    • Friday & Saturday: 10:30am – 9:00pm

The Yarra Valley is also host to the ultimate sweet destination, the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, where there is an abundance of chocolate and ice cream tastings, as well as Australia’s largest truffle display. Amongst the 7000 truffles you are sure to find at least one that appeals 😉

Tips for organising your Yarra Valley Winery Tour

  • The majority of cellar doors open mid morning around 10:30am / 11:00am, so if you want to get an earlier start look at something else to begin with, such as the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery
  • Most cellar doors close around 5:00pm, so ensure you allow ample time to visit prior to venue pack up
  • ALWAYS call ahead and make a booking with each of the Yarra Valley venues
  • Leave ample time between venues. Sometimes it can be like herding cats to get everyone back on board the bus at popular venues
  • Don’t forget to book somewhere for lunch. Many of the wineries will offer this as an option
  • Budget some extra time to wander and explore some of the vineyards. The Yarra Valley prides itself on the views and many of the cellar doors have outstanding grounds and features
  • Some wineries offer extended or premium tastings, and these can be a great way to learn more about the winery, region, varieties, and history.
  • Remember, tour groups ALWAYS need to book in advance at each venue.
